Every prophecy The Word spoke, The Word fulfilled. He is alive! The grave couldn’t hold him. Darkness could not overcome him. His holiness satisfied the wrath of God. He made atonement for my sin and your sin and he walked out of the tomb. He is alive!
Fight for your nearness with one another. That torn curtain didn’t just grant your access as an individual, but made you part of a mighty kingdom of priests. God can connect us to one another in the season in a supernatural way.
Christ was counted worthy to drink his father’s wrath in our place, therefore; he is also worthy to tread his Father’s winepress. And he will tread it. Christ Jesus will come back and bring a glorious day of salvation for his people and a horrible day of reckoning for the lost. Not one sin will escape his notice. Not one act of injustice will escape his wrath. Are you prepared for that day?
He wore our sin, so we could wear his righteousness. He wore the shame and suffering so we could wear His purity. He wore the covering forged by our sin, so we could wear His dazzling garments of holiness.
You can’t betray someone from a distance; you have to be close. We expect our enemies to hurt us, reject us, slander and cut us. We’re ready for it. Betrayal, however, can only come from those we’ve loved. Trusted. Invested in. Walked beside. Counted on. The unkindest kiss of all has to come from a friend.
This cup of shame, torment, and staggering was mine to drink. I earned it by my sinful birth, by falling short of the glory of God. The wages of my sin filled this cup, and I was supposed to drink it. Yet the lamb drank it for me.
